Cabarrus County Jail Roster
The official current-custody search is the Cabarrus Sheriff Office P2C Inmate Inquiry. The Sheriff's detention page sends users to Find an Inmate to determine whether someone is currently incarcerated. The roster is free and no login was observed. It is powered by the county's P2C system and returns current inmates in a grid, with a detail page available from each row.
The roster is not a full criminal-history database. It does not replace the Clerk of Court, NC eCourts, NCDAC, BOP, ICE, or JustFOIA. The roster itself warns that charges can change due to court disposition and directs users to the Clerk of Court for current disposition on each inmate. That warning is important in Cabarrus County because jail records and court records sit on the same downtown justice campus but are maintained by different offices.
Use Cabarrus County Inmate Records
Start with the person's legal name. The visible roster fields are last name and first name, and the form does not require a booking number. The grid can be narrowed with filters after the first search. If several people have similar names, compare age, race, sex, arrest date, primary charge, and booking agency. For formal case status, move from the jail record to the court record.
- Open the official P2C Inmate Inquiry from the Sheriff's Find an Inmate link.
- Enter the last name, then add the first name if the result list is broad.
- Review the public grid for name, primary charge, arrest date, and booking agency.
- Use Filter Inmate List for middle name, race, sex, age, charge, arrest date, or agency filters.
- Open the inmate detail page and review any visible court date, release date, photo area, or bond label.
- Call the Clerk or use NC eCourts when disposition or court-date information must be current.
Cabarrus Roster Search Fields
The P2C grid has more search structure than the public first screen suggests. Basic users see last name and first name. The advanced grid filter exposes additional columns, including demographic fields and charge information. A current roster inspection also showed JSON fields such as book ID, first, middle, and last name, age, date of birth timestamp, race, sex, charge description, arrest date, booking agency, and a view link.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Last Name | Text | Optional or unspecified | Visible basic field and best first search. |
| First Name | Text | Optional or unspecified | Visible basic field for narrowing common surnames. |
| Middle Name | Hidden filter | Optional | Available through advanced filtering. |
| Race | Dropdown | Optional | Observed choices include Asian Or Southeast Asian, Black, and White. |
| Sex | Dropdown | Optional | Observed choices are Female and Male. |
| Age | Text/filter | Optional | Hidden filterable field and grid summary data. |
| Primary Charge | Column/filter | Optional | Lead charge or hold, not final disposition. |
| Arrest Date | Column/filter | Optional | Displayed in MM/DD/YYYY format. |
| Booking Agency | Column/dropdown | Optional | Cabarrus County Sheriff was observed. |
The Cabarrus P2C inmate inquiry screenshot confirms the public name search and roster grid layout.
The screenshot belongs on the inmate-records page because it shows the actual search fields a user sees before opening a roster result.
Cabarrus Inmate Profile Fields
Cabarrus County inmate records are lighter than state prison profiles. The public roster row focuses on quick custody facts. The detail shell has labels for name, age, race and sex, arrest date, release date, next court date, a mugshot or image area, and total bond amount. A direct test shell showed a placeholder image, so photo availability should be checked in the actual selected-row workflow rather than assumed for every person.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Name / display name | Full name plus race, sex, and age summary in the current roster. |
| First, middle, last name | Structured identity fields in the grid data and hidden filters. |
| Race / sex / age | Demographic fields used to narrow people with similar names. |
| Primary charge | The lead booking charge or hold shown by the jail. |
| Arrest date | The date tied to the current custody event. |
| Booking agency | The agency tied to the booking record. |
| Release date | A detail-page label that may be blank for current custody. |
| Next court date | A detail-page label; verify the current date through NC Courts. |
| Mugshot/photo | An image area exists, but not every profile is proven to show a live booking photo. |
| Total bond amount | A label for bond when populated by the official roster workflow. |
Cabarrus Jail Contact Card
When the roster is unclear, use the jail information line for custody logistics and the Clerk of Court for court disposition. The public jail contact page lists the Sheriff's and detention complex at 30 Corban Avenue SE, while county budget materials place the main detention facility at 40 Corban Avenue SE and the annex at 20 Corban Avenue SE. These are part of the same Corban Avenue government campus in Concord.

Cabarrus Inmate Visitation Records
After an inmate record is found, visitation and communication rules come from the Sheriff's detention pages, not the court system. The Cabarrus visitation policy states that visits are by appointment only, are scheduled online or at a kiosk, and are recorded unless professional rules apply. Visitors age 16 or older need valid DMV-issued state ID, and damaged ID may be rejected.
| Item | Cabarrus Detention Rule |
|---|---|
| Visitation hours | Tuesday through Saturday, 9 AM to 8 PM. |
| Scheduling | Appointment only; up to one week ahead and at least 24 hours ahead. |
| Cancellation | Visits must be canceled 48 hours in advance. |
| Visit length | 45 minutes, beginning on the hour. |
| Per-inmate limits | One visit per day, up to three onsite visits per week, and one offsite visit every day. |
| Visitor count | One adult and up to two minors; minors must be listed. |
| Questions | Call 704-920-3023 during visitation hours. |
The official visitation page screenshot shows the appointment-based schedule and visitor rules.
Visitation details belong with inmate records because locating a current inmate is often followed by scheduling a visit or confirming visitor eligibility.
Cabarrus Records Request Chain
If the roster does not show the record needed, use the county records process instead of relying on third-party copies. The Sheriff's public-records link routes to Cabarrus JustFOIA, and the county's public-records page explains that the online form sends notice to staff and a confirmation email to the requester. In-person requests can also be routed through the County Manager's office at the Cabarrus County Government Center.
For a booking record request, include full name, arrest date, booking date, charge, and book ID if known. For a court disposition, contact the Clerk of Court or use NC eCourts. For a police report, request it from the investigating law-enforcement agency. For state prison records, the county cannot supply NCDAC data.
The Cabarrus JustFOIA portal is the online records-request channel used for public requests that are not visible in P2C.
The JustFOIA image documents the fallback route for booking or jail records when the roster does not provide enough detail.
Cabarrus Jail vs Other Custody
The county roster covers current Cabarrus jail custody. The NCDAC offender-search information page says the state database covers state prison offenders, probationers, and parolees and explicitly excludes county jail information. A Cabarrus inmate can move from the jail roster to NCDAC after sentencing and admission to state custody. That transfer changes the search system.
| Custody Type | Where to Search | What It Does Not Cover |
|---|---|---|
| Cabarrus current jail custody | P2C Inmate Inquiry | State prison profiles and federal custody. |
| North Carolina state prison, probation, parole | NCDAC Offender Public Information Search | County jail bookings. |
| Federal sentenced custody | BOP Inmate Locator | Local Cabarrus jail custody. |
| Immigration detainee after ICE transfer | ICE ODLS | County roster detail and local court case records. |
| Custody alerts | VINELink / NC SAVAN | Official court disposition or full jail file copies. |
The NCDAC search page explains the county-jail exclusion and the related NC SAVAN/VINELink notification option.
This source is important because it prevents a common mistake: using the state locator to search for someone still housed in the Cabarrus County jail.
Cabarrus Sheriff App Search
The Cabarrus County Sheriff app is another official access channel. Apple and Google Play listings advertise inmate search, sex offenders, emergency alerts, news, tips, weather, contact information, and social posts. Research did not find that inmate search is app-only, since the P2C roster also exists on the web. The app is still useful when a phone is easier than navigating the Sheriff's website.
VINELink can add notifications after a lookup. NCDAC says NC SAVAN includes county jail inmates, state prisoners, probationers, parolees, and registered sex offenders. Notifications may be by phone, email, text, or TTY. It is a notification tool, not a replacement for the roster, court portal, or public-records request.
For released people, the app and roster should still be treated as starting points. Cabarrus research did not locate a public archive of every past booking, and the sheriff roster is framed around current incarceration. A family member looking for an older jail record should combine the person's name with the arrest date, court case number if known, and the specific record needed before using JustFOIA or contacting the Clerk.
Note: For booking photos rather than basic custody facts, use the Cabarrus County jail mugshots page and the records-request route.
